'Ummah Sports Ltd' hereafter is known as 'Ummah Sports'

1. Terms and Conditions

1.1. The services provided by Ummah Sports Ltd (a private company limited by guarantee, incorporated in England with company number 07441780) are for approved members only. Ummah Sports retains the right to approve or reject membership applications at its discretion. Ummah Sports may revoke membership at any time at its discretion.

1.2. Ummah Sports runs single gender sessions with the objective to increase participation in different communities, cultures and religious beliefs to physical activity and exercise.

1.3. Entry is only permitted via the front entrance upon payment of the appropriate fee.

1.4. Members must dress in accordance with the dress code detailed in the Membership Rules section below.

1.5. Members must co-operate fully with Ummah Sports Representatives with the running of these sessions.

1.6. Members must comply with the rules and regulations of the Leisure Centre in place at the time. Where the rules of the Leisure Centre and rules of Ummah Sports conflict, then Ummah Sports shall determine which rule prevails at its discretion.

1.7. Members must leave the building by the time stipulated by Ummah Sports Representatives. Offenders may be refused entry at the discretion of Ummah Sports.

1.8. Ummah Sports may at its discretion refuse entry or remove any members if it believes that the member has breached any of these terms, any rules and regulations or displayed inappropriate behaviour in Ummah Sports’ discretion.

1.9. Prices are subject to review and variation at Ummah Sports' discretion with no less than 14 days’ notice.

1.10. Members are not entitled to any refunds, unless agreed to at the discretion of Ummah Sports.

1.11. Members must notify the Ummah Sports Representative and the Leisure Centre staff of any accident or injury immediately and ensure that it is recorded in the Ummah Sports Accident Log Book.

1.12. It is the responsibility of the members to notify Ummah Sports of any key contact information changes such as change in phone number, email address and next of kin details.

1.13. Members are responsible for looking after all their personal valuables and belongings at all times. Ummah Sports does not accept any liability for items lost, stolen or damaged.

1.14. Personal changing cubicles are provided to allow activity users to change clothing before engaging in activities. Storage of personal items in cubicles whilst participating in activities is strictly prohibited. Any items left within cubicles whilst participating in activities may be removed without notice and any loss, theft or damage to items left is at the member’s sole risk.This is a private members only club.

1.15. Use of Lockers for storage of personal items:

1.15.1. Swimming Village - Lockers are provided for the storage of personal items and require the purchase of a single use token from the vending machines located by the entrance to the swimming village.

1.15.2. Gym/Sports Hall - Lockers are provided on the first floor changing room and require the use of a Padlock which must be arranged by the members and will not be provided.

1.15.3. All items placed in Lockers are done so at the members’ own risk. Ummah Sports accepts no responsibility for any theft, loss of or damage to items stored in the Lockers.

1.16. Use of Gym

1.16.1. The gym is only available to members 16 years and older.

1.16.2. Members below the age of 16 years entering the gym may be asked to leave the Leisure Centre at the discretion of Ummah Sports.

1.16.3. Members using the gym must ensure that they have received appropriate medical clearance by a qualified medical professional before use of the gym.

2. Membership Rules

2.1. Dress Code & Footwear

2.1.1. Male: All males must wear 3/4 length shorts covering from their navel to below their knees.

2.1.2. Female: All females must wear swimwear covering from their shoulders to below the knees. The following clothing would be appropriate: Modest Swimming Costume, such as a Burkini or long t-shirts and a pair of leggings. Shalwar Kameez and other revealing clothing would not be appropriate.

2.1.3. Tracksuit bottoms are acceptable in the gym and sports hall but not jeans or any other type of trousers. If in doubt ask an Ummah Sports Representative.

2.1.4. Swimming clothing must be kept on and not removed when using communal showers.

2.1.5. Members must not move from one part of the building to another without drying themselves as wet floors create a slip hazard.

2.1.6. A change of clothing is required when moving from any activity in the dance studio, gym or sports hall to swimming or sauna and vice-versa.

2.1.7. Members must wear footwear appropriate for the activity.

2.1.8. Bare feet are not acceptable anywhere in the Leisure Centre except in the swimming village.

2.1.9. Flip flops are not allowed in the gym and or the sports hall.

2.2. Session Timings

2.2.1. Unless otherwise stipulated by Ummah Sports:

2.2.2. Sessions begin at 4:45pm;

2.2.3. Sessions end at 6:45pm and members must leave the building by 7:05pm.

2.2.4. Sessions will be suspended during Ramadan and Christmas. For other public holidays please check the Ummah Sports website www.ummahsports.org.

2.3. Cancellations

2.3.1. Emergency In the event of an emergency cancellation, we will notify all members through our official communication channels. On occasions, due to late cancellations by the Leisure Centre, we may not be able to notify members in time and whilst we apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment caused, we cannot accept any responsibility for such cancellations. Members are advised to check the Ummah Sports website www.ummahsports.org for general updates and any cancellation notices.

2.4. General Behaviour

2.4.1. All members must behave in a polite, friendly, courteous and considerate manner.

2.4.2. Foul language will not be tolerated

2.4.3. Abusive, threatening or violent behaviour will not be tolerated

2.4.4. Everyone to be treated with respect, including other members, Ummah Sports Representatives and Leisure Centre Staff

2.4.5. Queuing should be in an orderly manner

2.4.6. Members must not wander around the centre in dripping wet clothes

2.4.7. TVs must not be switched on

2.4.8. Ummah Sports shall determine at its discretion whether behaviour is acceptable or in breach of these rules.

2.5. Compliance

Any members wishing to use facilities available during private hire sessions:

2.5.1. must comply with all centre Health & Safety Regulations.

2.5.2. must become a member of Ummah Sports to use the Ummah Sports private hire facility.

2.5.3. must speak to the Ummah Sports Representative if they do not understand or are unsure of rules and regulations pertaining to the session.

2.5.4. must adhere to the Leisure Centre's child admission policy which is as follows:

2.5.4.1. Children aged 4-7 years must be accompanied by one appropriate adult for every two children.

2.5.4.2. Children under 4 years must be accompanied by one appropriate adult for each child.

2.5.4.3. Boys above the age of five are NOT allowed into the women's session.

2.5.4.4. Girls above the age of five are NOT allowed into the men's session.

2.6. Disputes and Complaints

2.6.1. In matters of dispute arising between members and staff or any complaints that members would like to raise, please bring this to the attention of the Ummah Sports Representative immediately and follow up with an email to info@ummahsports.org

2.7. Changes

2.7.1. Changes to the above rules and regulations or any part of these terms can be made at any time at the discretion of Ummah Sports with no less than 14 days notice.

2.8. Guests

2.8.1. All above rules and regulations apply to any guests (who are not registered members) that are allowed entry at Ummah Sports’ discretion. Acceptance of these terms is a condition of entry.

3. Accounts and Credits

3.1. Credits purchased are allocated to a specific member at the point of purchase and cannot subsequently be transferred from one member to another.

3.2. Credits remain valid for 12 calendar months from date of purchase. Any credits not used within 12 calendar months from the date of purchase will automatically expire and no refunds or substitute credits will be provided.

3.3. Advance purchase of credits does not guarantee entry to a session. Entry to a session is on a first come first serve basis.

4. Disclaimer and Legal

4.1. Members hereby acknowledge and agree that the role of Ummah Sports has only been to liaise with Croydon Council and the appropriate Leisure Centre to allow these sessions to take place and that Ummah Sports is not responsible for running/supervising the sessions. Accordingly, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Ummah Sports hereby excludes any liability for any loss, damage or personal injury which members or any guests may suffer or incur of whatsoever nature.

4.2. Members hereby consent to Ummah Sports using the Members’ personal details for processing and maintaining their membership; to keep members updated about the sessions, for general marketing purposes and for passing onto 3rd parties who are involved in the running of the sessions or require the information for any legal purposes. Please see Ummah Sports’ privacy policy for further details on use of personal data.

4.3. Members are fully responsible for any loss or damage to property or equipment caused by them or any child under 16 who has accompanied the member. Members agree to indemnify the organisers for any loss or damage they suffer as a result of this.

4.4. Your health is your responsibility. Exercise carries its own risk, and you should therefore never exercise beyond your ability. If you have any doubts as to your fitness, or you have any medical conditions that may affect your safety through exercise, you should seek advice from your doctor before partaking in the activity.

4.5. You make the following statement, warranty and representation concerning your health on a continuing basis on the date you become a member and for so long as you participate in sessions:

I wish to embark on a programme of physical activity and confirm that I do not have any health conditions which may prevent or adversely affect my participation in the exercise programme and/or induction. If my health status changes, I will seek guidance and clearance to exercise from my General Practitioner or other relevant heath professional before participating any further in the physical activity. I confirm and agree that Ummah Sports are not responsible to inquire further into my health and ability to participate in sessions and will not be liable for any injury or damage to my health as a result of me participating in sessions.
